The best way to customize your iPhone homescreen

What’s the best way to customize your iPhone homescreen? Is this also your question? Or do you want some inspiration? This blog post is for you. In this blog we will cover the followed topics about customizing your homescreen in an aesthetic way:

  • How to choose your wallpaper.

  • How to choose your app icons (and how to set them)

  • How to choose your widgets.

  • The best layouts for your homescreen.

How to choose your wallpaper

Your wallpaper is really important. If you choose the right wallpaper, your homescreen looks instantly better. First, you going to ask yourself what kind of wallpaper you want and what kind of vibe. You can choose between a minimal wallpaper like one solid color or a gradient or a busy wallpaper like digital art or a photo. If you want minimal wallpaper you can look at my Etsy shop where I sell minimal wallpaper (https://cutt.ly/S89dDvk). With IOS 16 you can also choose a wallpaper with an object in the center like a building or a person, your iPhone or iPad will see that and automatically cut the object out and paste it above the time.

How to choose your app icons

The thing that’s gonna make the vibe of your homescreen are your app icons. I think the best decision is to take minimal app icons because it looks great on every wallpaper you choose. There are many different sorts of minimal app icons on the internet and also in many different colors. If you want affordable minimal app icons you can have a look in my Etsy store (https://cutt.ly/S89dDvk). You can also choose for an ultimate clean home screen, there are some apps you can download in the app store that set transparent app icons with a small icon as an icon pack.

How to choose your widgets

Homescreen widgets are definitely the ones you need for an aesthetic homescreen. Many apps support homescreen widgets like YouTube, Spotify, and calendar. You can use the widgets to make your homescreen more functional or more productive, but you can also use them to make it look more aesthetic. I have already posted a blog about the best apps for aesthetic and productivity widgets available on the App Store, if you haven’t read that already, there’s a link at the bottom of this blog post. I thought Color Widgets is the best app for aesthetic homescreen widgets due to a large number of widget templates and the customizability of every widget. You also can search for pictures on the internet or Pinterest and set that picture as a widget, which you can do in Color Widgets.

So, after you took all your decisions about the wallpaper, app icons, and widgets it’s time to think about the layout of your homescreen. There are endless layouts, but here are 3 layouts I use the most:

The best way to choose your layout is based on your preferred hand for holding your phone and on the size of your phone. For example, if your preferred hand for holding your phone is your right hand, the best place to put your apps is on the right side. If you have a smaller screen size, it’s more efficient to have fewer app icons and bigger widgets, for example, the first layout on the image.

Thank you for reading, I hope this helped you with customizing your IOS homescreen.
